Le Lotus Rouge is one of those places that can turn a common night into an unexpected adventure by the mere fact of walking into it.
Imagined as a space for art and creative expression, each of the different rooms in this alternative funhouse features a mix of artistic elements, random everyday objects assembled in unique ways, splashes of contrasting colors and textures, and the promise of good times in good company.
Recently renovated and with the addition of an open rooftop area, Le Lotus Rouge offers live music acts, tasty food, cold drinks and, in my opinion, the perfect off-the-beaten-path venue for those tired of the touristy Playa del Carmen scene or simply craving a dose of funky authenticity.
